چکیده

This paper describes the design and verification of a highperformance asynchronous differential equation solver. The design has low control overhead which allows the average-case delay to be 48% faster (tested at 22 C and 3.3V) than any comparable synchronous design (simulated at 100 C and 3V). The techniques to reduce completion sensing overhead and hide control overhead at the circuit, architectural, and protocol levels are discussed. In addition, symbolic model checking techniques are described that were used to gain higher confidence in the correctness of the timed distributed control.

Robust Anti-Windup Control Design for PID Controllers–Theory and Experimental Verification

This paper addresses an approximation-based anti-windup (AW) control strategy for suppressing the windup effect caused by actuator saturation nonlinearity in proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controlled systems. The effect of actuator constraint is firstly regarded as a disturbance imported to the PID controller. The external disturbance can then be modeled by a linear differential equatio...

Practical Timing Analysis of Asynchronous Systems Using Time Separation of Events

We present a unified technique for timing verification and performance analysis of complex asynchronous systems designed with implicit timing assumptions. Our method models interacting controllers and datapath elements using timing constraint graphs. Performance metrics and timing constraints to be verified are formulated as time separations between appropriate events. Separations between all r...

A preconditioned solver for sharp resolution of multiphase flows at all Mach numbers

A preconditioned five-equation two-phase model coupled with an interface sharpening technique is introduced for simulation of a wide range of multiphase flows with both high and low Mach regimes. Harten-Lax-van Leer-Contact (HLLC) Riemann solver is implemented for solving the discretized equations while tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing (THINC) interface sharpening method is applied ...
